Dogs Take Over

Baby Maren is cute, but she wasn't the only thing on the other side of the Lincoln Tunnel. I hereby present Sahara and Holly: DOGS!

Baby Maren, Take Two: Toddler Days

Baby Maren is now 18 months old, which means she's still pretty adorable. In six months, she'll hit the terrible twos, which is when toddlers are horrible and impossible to deal with. Or at least that's what my mom said about me. Braving the Lincoln Tunnel and the cold, I went to Jersey to see my friends and baby toddler Maren. Delicious dinner, good conversation, and photos transpired.

Baby Maren, Take 1

Two of my great friends from college, Dee and Martin, had a beautiful baby girl around Memorial Day, 2009. These are some pics of her, at about 6 months. It was like she had a 6th sense about when the camera was aimed at her; it was almost impossible to take a candid of her. Such a ham, too!

Robert

Dug these up from about a year ago. I was on a shoot in Jersey City, and during some downtime, did some test shots of Robert, former art director @ Getty Images.

Liz @ Wolfsmouth Vintage Clothing

What do you do when one of your friends needs your help and asks you to shoot her vintage dresses? Well, if you're me, and your friend is Liz at Wolfsmouth Vintage, then you agree, but only if you get to make fun of her turban hat, can force her into ridiculous poses and run the risk of getting in trouble for slight trespassing. The shoot was fun, the dresses and cloaks and hats looked great, and neither of us got in any trouble with the law. Great success.

Comic-Con

This was the second year in a row I went to New York City's Comic-Con, but the first time I had my camera. In 2009, I was so overwhelmed and geeked out by EVERYTHING I saw, I couldn't even think about taking photos. This year, after an 18 month wait, I was still pretty geeked and overwhelmed, but I was determined to capture the spirit of the 'con in stills. From Erick Scarecrow (founder and genius at ESC Toy and overall great guy) to Jesus and Sexy Nurse posing for me at the closing of the last day, these are a few of my favorites. You can see more of the images here.

Janet in the Studio (Hair-Blowingly)

As a favor, Janet asked me to shoot some shots of her blowing hair out of her face. This led to the following cinc-tychs (???) and an effort by both of us. It seemed she was more successful.

Janet in the Studio (Unexpectedly)

After a hard half a day shooting casting photos of 50-60 year old men in workout clothes at a nice NY studio, I was allowed to use the space for myself by the gracious and glamorous Karen of Difficult Egg Productions. I invited my friend Janet to come downtown. Not fully aware of what she was signing up for, she still kindly agreed to model for me. Here's a few of my favorites:
